UPPARTNER was one of the organizing partners of the 10km UNICEF Sport Zone Race, which happened last Sunday, July 6th in Lisbon, with about 1200 participants, 700 for running and 500 for walking.

The main objective of this initiative was to alert society for the cause of underprivileged children around the world and raise funding for the UNICEF field programs. An opportunity to help and, above all, promote sport and interaction, in an event aimed to participants of all ages, which counted with the presence of Rosa Mota, a living legend of Portuguese athletics. This action began at the old Feira Popular grounds, in Entrecampos, and passed by the Campo Grande, Saldanha, Liberdade Avenue and ended at the Restauradores square. UPPARTNER was represented by a very cheerful team which was able to reach the goal even under constant rainfall.

The collaborators had a great time, while helping at the same time, and gave their testimony after the race:

The thing I liked the most was great time we all had together. I liked the race and the places we passed by. It’s always great to be able to run through streets where almost every day we only drive through. And it also was great to understand how much out of shape I am. In conclusion, it was a very positive experience and something I’ll certainly do again some day. (Jaime)

It was great for me to be a part of a social responsibility initiative, to hang around with my co-workers out of the office and the fact that it was an outdoor sports activity! (João Henriques)

I participated because I’m a runner, I already participated in a lot of races of various distances and with UPPARTNER organizing it I knew I would find and share this experience with some of my work mates. The UP force is so great that the rain didn’t stop them, even if they weren’t used to the difficulties of running. (Eduarda)

I participated because UPPARNER was organizing this event, and I wanted to join my company’s team and do this while wearing its colors. To run under tropical weather of rain and heat doesn’t happen every day! (João Campos)
